  • Removes all existing data
  • Imports everything from the file
  • Good for restoring a backup

Use Cases

Backup

Regularly export your configuration:

  • Before major changes
  • When switching computers
  • For peace of mind

Google Drive Backup (Pro)

Pro includes optional backup to your own Google Drive account.

What it does:

  • Saves your acetab data snapshot to Drive
  • Lets you restore from a Drive backup on another device
  • Keeps ownership in your Google account (not acetab-hosted storage)

What you need:

  • Pro enabled
  • Google sign-in + Drive permission consent

Scheduled Sync (Pro)

Pro can also run scheduled sync checks using a Drive-backed sync file.

How it behaves:

  • Runs on a schedule (for example, every 6/12/24 hours, weekly, or monthly)
  • Checks for newer cloud/local data and applies safe updates
  • Uses conflict-aware prompts when both copies changed
  • Is not real-time mirroring; it is periodic sync

Tip:

  • Keep manual exports for milestone backups even if scheduled sync is enabled.

Transfer Between Browsers

  • Reconnect your Google account from settings
  • Re-authorize Drive permissions if prompted
  • Check that Drive API access is enabled for your account

Sync conflict prompt appeared?

  • Review timestamps and choose whether to keep cloud or local state
  • Use “save both” when offered if you want a safe fallback
  • Export manually before large merges if you are unsure

Troubleshooting

Import Failed?

  • Ensure the file is valid JSON
  • Check the file isn’t corrupted
  • Try a fresh export and compare

Missing Data After Import?

  • Verify you selected the correct import mode
  • Check if the screen appeared in your switcher
  • Refresh the page
