Working with Links

Any screen in acetab can include link collections alongside widgets. Organize your favorite websites in a beautiful, visual layout.

  1. Navigate to your screen
  2. Enter edit mode
  3. Click ”+ Add Link”
  4. Fill in:
    • URL — The website address
    • Title — Display name
    • Description — Optional subtitle
    • Icon — Auto-fetched or custom

For faster setup, use the App Catalog tab in the add modal:

  1. Open + Add
  2. Select App Catalog
  3. Search curated apps and click Add to acetab

App Catalog is part of free core acetab.

Each link displays as a card showing:

  • Website favicon (automatically fetched)
  • Title you specified
  • Description (if provided)
  • Custom icon (optional override)

Organizing with Pages

Screens support tabbed pages for links:

  1. Click ”+ Page” in the top bar
  2. Name the page (e.g., “Dev Tools”, “Social Media”)
  3. Add links to each page
  4. Switch between pages using the tabs

Use Cases

  • Work — Pages for different projects
  • Personal — Social media, entertainment, shopping
  • Research — Topic-specific link collections

One of acetab’s unique features is universal link search:

  1. Press Ctrl/Cmd + K or click the search icon
  2. Type any part of a link’s title, URL, or description
  3. Results show matches from ALL your screens
  4. Click a result to open that link

This means you can find any link instantly, no matter which screen or page it’s on.

Icon Size

Adjust how large link icons appear in settings.

Grid Density

Choose compact, comfortable, or spacious layouts.

Font Size

Control the text size across your dashboard:

  • Global setting: Set a default font size (Small, Medium, Large, or Extra Large) from the Options page under Layout.
  • Per-page override: In edit mode, use the Font dropdown in the toolbar to set a different font size for the current page. This overrides the global setting for that page only.

Custom Icons

Override the auto-fetched favicon:

  1. Edit a link
  2. Select “Custom Icon”
  3. Choose a Material Icon or paste an image URL

Instead of adding links one by one, use the in-product App Catalog or import a collection for instant link pages.
